Charity fund raiser for Miss McCabe

In memory of Miss McCabe, a fantastic teacher who sadly passed away in 2010, we will be organizing a series of charity events which will commemorate her life and legacy.

As I am sure many of you know, she was a very charitable lady who loved her job and she made young people’s lives better. The two charities that we have chosen to raise money for are:

ROK – Reach out Kensington. This charity provides help and guidance for vulnerable young people in the Kensington area.  Some of these children haven’t had the best upbringing and it enables them to make friends and it helps to prevent them from joining gangs etc. Your money could help take children off the streets and gives them real career aspects for the future.

Steve Sinnott Foundation – This charity helps teachers set up schools in really deprived parts of the world. This provides real hope for children who are born into a world with far less privileges than us. Education is the key to end poverty in these parts of the world and it could help a child who would otherwise be in poverty to lead a better life. Your money could really make someone’s life different.

I am sure you will agree that these two charities would really commemorate Miss McCabe’s legacy.

Keith Taylor has kindly volunteered to get his hair cut to raise money for the two charities and you can help choose his haircut! For just £1 you can help choose Keith’s hair style and watch it live on Monday 6th February in the theatre during a special assembly for year 11s only. If you enter the competition to pick a haircut for Keith, your name will go into a hat to be drawn for a £15 iTunes Voucher.

Click here to enter the competition online (This is open to staff, 6th Form, Year 10 and Year 11 only - once you click the link you will need to login to Moodle to take part)

We will also be having a raffle where you can win a iTunes vouchers worth £30 with a runners up prize of an iTunes voucher for £15. Raffle tickets will be available from your school council representative for 10p each or 50p for a sheet
